Elsass Frei: There are some Alsatians who dream of independence from France! Yes, you heard that right! They even have their own flag and anthem! Now, before you pack your bags and pledge your allegiance to the independent state of Alsace

The Marseillaise: the French national anthem, comes from Strasbourg and not Marseille!

Alsace-Moselle regime: The Alsace-Moselle region of France has a unique legal system combining elements of French and German law, including a separate social security system. The region has additional bank holidays, and religion is taught in schools, unlike the rest of France.

Bugatti: The supercar brand was born in a village of Molsheim, Alsace where it is still headquartered.

Bukit Tinggi: A small town in Malaysia was built to look like an Alsatian village (Riquewihr)

Howl’s Moving Castle: A japanese anime features Colmar as its decor

EuroAirport: One of the very few multi-national airports in the world.
